First of all, thank you to all of you who took time to vote for Edison Elementary in U.S. Cellular’s Calling All Communities campaign. Voting is now closed, and the winning schools will be announced on Tuesday, December 10.
Now for the exciting news… the Appleton Education Foundation is proud to announce its first-ever Facebook grant competition!
We sent an announcement out to all AASD educators about this opportunity last week Thursday. Grant applications (a short description in 30 words or less) started coming in that afternoon!
Teachers have until 4 p.m. on December 4 to submit their ideas. The “Top 10” will be posted to AEF’s Facebook page the following Monday. Everyone with a Facebook account can vote for their favorite grant idea by liking it. One like will equal one vote. Voting closes December 17 at 10 p.m. The winning grant idea will be announced December 18 and earn a $250 grant.
So, if you are an AASD teacher, jot down a 30-word (or less) explanation of how you would use $250 to enhance education. Or, if you know an AASD teacher encourage them to participate in this competition. All ideas should be sent to Lori Kaufman.
It’s like the lottery: you can’t win unless you play.
We think these are pretty easy rules, so everyone should play!
