It’s official… the 18 AASD schools that were represented at the 2013 Knowledge Open have been sent their grant checks. Many schools have chosen to support technology initiatives with their funds. Below is a breakdown on how the $11,450 will benefit staff and students within AASD.

Appleton Career Academy – $2,650 – Funds will purchase laptops.

Central High School – $600 – This grant will support the Wisconsin Avenue Planter Project.

East High School – $300 – Proceeds will support East’s Patriot March 5K and Kids Run, a healthy kids initiative.

Edison Elementary School – $81.25 – This grant will support guidance department initiatives.

Einstein Middle School – $981.25 – Funds will purchase laptops.

Ferber Elementary School – $100 – Books and bins for the school’s new “bookroom” will be purchased.

Foster Elementary School – $1,250 – Radios to increase security at the school will be purchased.

Horizons Elementary School – $100 – The United for Reading Success program will be supported with this grant.

Huntley Elementary School – $700 – This grant will support technology upgrades.

Johnston Elementary – $100 – Funds will be used for a new principal/teacher meet and greet event.

Lincoln Elementary – $162.50 – A new walking trail will be enhanced with this grant.

McKinley Elementary School – $100 – Technology upgrades will take place using these funds.

North High School – $150 – Technology upgrades will take place using these funds.

Richmond Elementary School – $1,812.50 – Funds will be used to purchase hanging projectors and document cameras for classrooms.

Roosevelt Middle School – $400 – Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives will be funded with this grant.

West High School – $1,062.50 – Funds will be used to purchase laptops for special education classrooms.

Wilson Middle School – $900 – Reading materials for Response to Intervention reading time will be purchased.
