October is Financial Planning Month! This is a great reminder to review your existing financial plan or start working on putting a financial plan together if you don’t have one already. Financial planning can be complex, so consider working with a professional or starting with the basics like creating a budget, reviewing your existing investments to ensure they align with your risk tolerance, drafting a savings plan, and creating a list of your short-term and long-term goals.
With year-end right around the corner (spooky, right?), Financial Planning Month is also the time to consider your charitable giving goals and year-end tax planning. If you would like to join the more than 1,000 donors who support the Appleton Education Foundation annually, consider making a gift of your appreciated stock, bonds, real estate, a life insurance policy, personal property, or cash. Your gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible.
Please note currently the Appleton Education Foundation is not qualified to accept Qualified Charitable Distributions from Individual Retirement Accounts. If this changes in the future, we will share that information.

If you make a donation online, the website will reference the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. As AEF is a supporting organization of the Community Foundation, gifts to the Appleton Education Foundation are processed by Community Foundation vendors.
The Appleton Education Foundation stewards more than 100 charitable funds, so you can also contact the Foundation to learn how to give to an existing fund that matches your philanthropic goals or establish a new fund to support an area of education that is meaningful to you.
