Nancy is a retired Appleton Area School District (AASD) principal who has stayed involved with the district be coordinating a mentoring program for student teachers about to begin their careers in education. Tom is a businessman working in commercial real estate development. Together, they wanted to make a difference for educators new to the AASD. They established the Scheuerman Family Fund, a donor advised fund, within the AEF.
The Scheuerman Family Fund considers grant requests from educators seeking up to $500 through AEF’s competitive grant cycles.
Tom and Nancy are members of the Foundation’s Legacy Society – a group for those who have included the AEF in their estate plans. The Scheuermans trust that the Foundation will carry out their wishes when they are no longer able to recommend grants from the fund.
