Facebook Grant Competition

The Appleton Education Foundation has been awarding grants since its founding in 1997. Competitive grants are awarded based on recommendations from the grants committee. Grants committee members read all applications submitted for AEF’s two annual grant cycles. Learn more about these grant opportunities.

In 2013, in addition to our tried and true granting methods, we tried something new: a Facebook Grant Competition.

We asked AASD educators to tell us how they would use $250 to enhance education. And, they had to do it in 30 words or less. Facebook users were able to vote for their favorite idea by liking it.

The response we received was great, and it was a lot of fun. So, the Facebook Grant Competition is making a return in 2015.

Here are the dates to keep in mind:

December 2 @ 4 p.m. – Deadline to submit grant ideas
December 7 @ 10 a.m. – “Top 10” grant ideas posted by AEF staff to AEF Facebook page, voting begins
December 15 @ 10 p.m. – Voting deadline
December 16 @ 10 a.m. – Grant winner announced

Interested in submitting your 30-word idea? Be sure to read the guidelines.
